Einstein Probe Discovery of an X-ray Flare from K-type Star PM J23221-0301
Guoying Zhao, WeiKang Zheng, Rong-Feng Shen +21
Stellar flares are an intense stellar activity that can significantly impact the atmospheric composition of the surrounding planets and even the possible existence of life. During…
Looking for Companionship: Radial Velocity Follow-Up of Lithium-Rich Giants with ESPRESSO
Maryum Sayeed, Andrew R. Casey, Benjamin T. Montet +4
Lithium-rich red giants have been a long-standing mystery in stellar astrophysics. A leading theory to explain these chemically peculiar and rare objects is interactions with a clo…
Newborn Be star systems observed shortly after mass transfer
Th. Rivinius, R. Klement, S. D. Chojnowski +24
Many classical Be stars acquire their very rapid rotation by mass and angular-momentum transfer in massive binaries. Short-lived intermediate-phase objects have only been discovere…
Multiplicity of Galactic Cepheids from long-baseline interferometry V. High-accuracy orbital parallax and mass of SU Cygni
A. Gallenne, N. R. Evans, P. Kervella +23
Cepheid masses are particularly necessary to help solving the mass discrepancy, while independent distance determinations provide crucial test of the period-luminosity relation and…
