Cosmic Threads: Interlinking the Stellar Initial Mass Function from Star-Birth to Galaxies
Tereza Jerabkova, Donatella Romano, Pavel Kroupa +19
The stellar initial mass function (sIMF) describes the distribution of stellar masses formed in a single star formation event in a molecular cloud clump. It is fundamental to astro…
Tidal Tails of Nearby Open Clusters. II. A Review of Simulated Properties and the Reliability of Observational Catalogues
Vikrant V. Jadhav, Dhanraj Risbud, Pavel Kroupa +1
Context: Recent studies using Gaia data have reported tidal tail detections for tens to hundreds of open clusters. However, a comprehensive assessment of the reliability & complete…
Tidal tails in open clusters: Morphology, binary fraction, dynamics, and rotation
Ira Sharma, Vikrant V. Jadhav, Annapurni Subramaniam +1
Context: This research presents unsupervised machine learning and statistical methods to identify and analyze tidal tails in open star clusters using data from the Gaia DR3 catalog…
Tidal tails of nearby open clusters I. Mapping with Gaia DR3
Dhanraj Risbud, Vikrant V. Jadhav, Pavel Kroupa
Context: Tidal tails of open clusters are the result of stellar evaporation from the cluster through the Galactic potential and internal dynamics. With the recent availability of h…
