Central Massive Black Holes Are Not Ubiquitous in Local Low-Mass Galaxies
Fan Zou, Elena Gallo, Anil C. Seth +13
The black-hole occupation fraction () defines the fraction of galaxies that harbor central massive black holes (MBHs), irrespective of their accretion activity leve…
Magellan Spectroscopy of AGNs in Low-mass Galaxies: Scaling Relations and a Triple-Peaked AGN
Megan R. Sturm, Amy E. Reines, Jenny Greene +1
In this work, we aim to further populate the low-mass regime of black hole (BH) scaling relations to better understand the formation and growth mechanisms of central supermassive B…
The Morphology of Dwarf Galaxies Hosting Variable Active Galactic Nuclei
Erin Kimbro, Vivienne Baldassare, Guy Worthey +2
We analyze Hubble Space Telescope (HST) optical imaging of eight low-mass galaxies hosting active galactic nuclei (AGN) identified via their photometric variability in \cite{baldas…
DAVOS: Dwarf Active Galactic Nuclei from Variability for the Origins of Seeds: Properties of Variability-Selected Active Galactic Nuclei in the COSMOS Field and Expectations for the Rubin Observatory
Colin J. Burke, Yichen Liu, Charlotte A. Ward +3
We study the black hole mass host galaxy stellar mass relation, , of a sample of optically-variable AGNs in the COSMOS field. The parent sample of 4…
