The most distant optically polarised GRB afterglow: GRB 240419A at z = 5.178
R. Brivio, S. Covino, M. Ferro +31
Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are extremely bright phenomena powered by relativistic jets arising from explosive events at cosmological distances. The nature of the jet and the configura…
A low mass, binary-stripped envelope for the Type IIb SN 2024abfo
S. de Wet, G. Leloudas, D. Buckley +3
Type IIb supernovae (SNe) are a transitional subclass of stripped-envelope SNe showing hydrogen lines in their spectra that gradually weaken and give way to helium lines reminiscen…
MeerKAT discovery of a hyperactive repeating fast radio burst source
J. Tian, I. Pastor-Marazuela, K. M. Rajwade +17
We present the discovery and localisation of a repeating fast radio burst (FRB) source from the MeerTRAP project, a commensal fast radio transient search programme using the MeerKA…
Contemporaneous optical-radio observations of a fast radio burst in a close galaxy pair
K. Y. Hanmer, I. Pastor-Marazuela, J. Brink +20
We present the MeerKAT discovery and MeerLICHT contemporaneous optical observations of the Fast Radio Burst (FRB) 20230808F, which was found to have a dispersion measure of $\mathr…
