Quantum Error Correction on Error-mitigated Physical Qubits
Minjun Jeon, Zhenyu Cai
We present a general framework for applying linear quantum error mitigation (QEM) techniques directly to physical qubits within a logical qubit to suppress logical errors. By explo…
Correcting quantum errors using a classical code and one additional qubit
Tenzan Araki, Joseph F. Goodwin, Zhenyu Cai
Classical error-correcting codes are powerful but incompatible with quantum noise, which includes both bit-flips and phase-flips. We introduce Hadamard-based Virtual Error Correcti…
Noise-aware Time-optimal Quantum Control
Minjun Jeon, Zhenyu Cai
Quantum optimal control plays a vital role in many quantum technologies, including quantum computation. One of the most important control parameters to optimise for is the evolutio…
Quantum Error Mitigation for Sampling Algorithms
Kecheng Liu, Zhenyu Cai
Recent experimental breakthroughs have signalled the imminent arrival of the early fault-tolerant era. However, for a considerable period in the foreseeable future, relying solely…
Low-overhead Magic State Circuits with Transversal CNOTs
Nicholas Fazio, Mark Webster, Zhenyu Cai
With the successful demonstration of transversal CNOTs in many recent experiments, it is the right moment to examine its implications on one of the most critical parts of fault-tol…
