Stability of 2nd Hilbert points of canonical curves
Maksym Fedorchuk, David Jensen
We establish GIT semistability of the 2nd Hilbert point of every Gieseker-Petri general canonical curve by a simple geometric argument. As a consequence, we obtain an upper bound o…
Finite Hilbert stability of canonical curves, II. The even-genus case
Jarod Alper, Maksym Fedorchuk, David Ishii Smyth
This paper is a sequel to arXiv:1109.4986, where we proved that a general smooth curve of odd genus, canonically or bicanonically embedded, has semistable finite Hilbert points. He…
Finite Hilbert stability of (bi)canonical curves
Jarod Alper, Maksym Fedorchuk, David Ishii Smyth
We prove that a generic canonically or bicanonically embedded smooth curve has semistable m-th Hilbert points for all m. We also prove that a generic bicanonically embedded smooth…
The final log canonical model of the moduli space of stable curves of genus four
Maksym Fedorchuk
We describe the final log canonical model of the moduli space of stable curves of genus four. We prove that the rational map from to this model contracts the Petri and…
Cyclic covering morphisms on
Maksym Fedorchuk
We study cyclic covering morphisms from to moduli spaces of unpointed stable curves of positive genus or compactified moduli spaces of principally polarized abelian…
