A 3D Chemodynamical Census of Inner-Galaxy Metal-poor Giants to [Fe/H]~-3.5
Shenglan Sun, Yang Huang, Fangzhou Jiang +8
The earliest assembly of the Milky Way remains poorly understood, yet the spatial, chemical, and kinematic properties of its most metal-poor stars provide a unique fossil record of…
Identifying the Galactic Substructures in 5D Space Using All-sky RR Lyrae Stars in Gaia DR3
Shenglan Sun, Fei Wang, Huawei Zhang +9
Motivated by the vast gap between photometric and spectroscopic data volumes, there is great potential in using 5D kinematic information to identify and study substructures of the…
The Formation of Milky Way "Bones": Ubiquitous HI Narrow Self-Absorption Associated with CO Emission
Shenglan Sun, Ke Wang, Xunchuan Liu +1
Long and skinny molecular filaments running along Galactic spiral arms are known as "bones", since they make up the skeleton of the Milky Way. However, their origin is still an ope…
The ALMA Survey of Star Formation and Evolution in Massive Protoclusters with Blue Profiles (ASSEMBLE): Core Growth, Cluster Contraction, and Primordial Mass Segregation
Fengwei Xu, Ke Wang, Tie Liu +40
The ALMA Survey of Star Formation and Evolution in Massive Protoclusters with Blue Profiles (ASSEMBLE) aims to investigate the process of mass assembly and its connection to high-m…
