Novel infrared-blocking aerogel scattering filters and their applications in astrophysical and planetary science
Kyle R. Helson, Stefan Arseneau, Alyssa Barlis +8
Infrared-blocking scattering aerogel filters have a broad range of potential applications in astrophysics and planetary science observations in the far-infrared, sub-millimeter, an…
Optical Characterization & Testbed Development for μ-Spec Integrated Spectrometers
Maryam Rahmani, Alyssa Barlis, Emily M. Barrentine +21
This paper describes a cryogenic optical testbed developed to characterize u-Spec spectrometers in a dedicated dilution refrigerator (DR) system. u-Spec is a far-infrared integrate…
Characterization of aerogel scattering filters for astronomical telescopes
Alyssa Barlis, Stefan Arseneau, Charles L. Bennett +8
We have developed a suite of novel infrared-blocking filters made by embedding scattering particles in a polymer aerogel substrate. Our developments allow us to tune the spectral p…
Developing a New Generation of Integrated Micro-Spec Far Infrared Spectrometers for the EXperiment for Cryogenic Large-Aperture Intensity Mapping (EXCLAIM)
Carolyn G. Volpert, Emily M. Barrentine, Mona Mirzaei +21
The current state of far-infrared astronomy drives the need to develop compact, sensitive spectrometers for future space and ground-based instruments. Here we present details of th…
