Performance of Multilevel Flash Memories with Different Binary Labelings: A Multi-User Perspective
Pengfei Huang, Paul H. Siegel, Eitan Yaakobi
In this work, we study the performance of different decoding schemes for multilevel flash memories where each page in every block is encoded independently. We focus on the multi-le…
Codes Correcting a Burst of Deletions or Insertions
Clayton Schoeny, Antonia Wachter-Zeh, Ryan Gabrys +1
This paper studies codes that correct bursts of deletions. Namely, a code will be called a -burst-deletion-correcting code if it can correct a deletion of any consecutive bi…
Bounds and Constructions of Codes with Multiple Localities
Alexander Zeh, Eitan Yaakobi
This paper studies bounds and constructions of locally repairable codes (LRCs) with multiple localities so-called multiple-locality LRCs (ML-LRCs). In the simplest case of two loca…
Codes in the Damerau Distance for DNA Storage
Ryan Gabrys, Eitan Yaakobi, Olgica Milenkovic
Motivated by applications in DNA-based storage, we introduce the new problem of code design in the Damerau metric. The Damerau metric is a generalization of the Levenshtein distanc…
Coding for Locality in Reconstructing Permutations
Netanel Raviv, Eitan Yaakobi, Muriel Medard
The problem of storing permutations in a distributed manner arises in several common scenarios, such as efficient updates of a large, encrypted, or compressed data set. This proble…
