Constraints on the ejecting-crust activity model on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko
Nicholas Attree, Pedro Gutiérrez, Christian Schuckart +6
Reproducing the observed activity of comets with thermophysical models remains a primary challenge of cometary science. We use a pebble-based thermophysical model of gas-pressure b…
Localised ejection of dust and chunks on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko: testing how comets work
Nicholas Attree, Christian Schuckart, Dorothea Bischoff +2
We extend an existing thermophysical activity model of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko to include pressure buildup inside the pebbles making up the nucleus. We test various quantit…
Varying water activity and momentum transfer on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko from its non-gravitational forces and torques
N. Attree, P. Gutiérrez, O. Groussin +9
We investigate the ability of a simultaneous fitting of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko's non-gravitational forces, torques and total water-outgassing rate, as observed by Rosetta,…
A quantitative description of comet 67P's dust and gas production remains enigmatic
Dorothea Bischoff, Christian Schuckart, Nicholas Attree +2
The mechanism of dust emission from a cometary nucleus is still an open question and thermophysical models have problems reproducing outgassing and dust productions rates simultane…
