Irradiated Atmospheres I: Heating by Vertical-Mixing Induced Energy Transport
Wei Zhong, Zhen-Tai Zhang, Hui-Sheng Zhong +3
Observations have revealed unique temperature profiles in hot Jupiter atmospheres. We propose that the energy transport by vertical mixing could lead to such thermal features. In o…
Constraining the Presence of Companion Planets in Hot Jupiter Planetary System Using TTV Observation from TESS
Zixin Zhang, Wenqin Wang, Xinyue Ma +7
The presence of another planetary companion in a transiting exoplanet system can impact its transit light curve, leading to sinusoidal transit timing variations (TTV). By utilizing…
Detecting eclipsing double white dwarfs with electromagnetic and gravitational waves
Hong-Ming Jin, Bo Ma, Yong Shao +1
Galactic double white dwarfs are predominant sources of gravitational waves in the millihertz frequencies accessible to space-borne gravitational wave detectors. With advances in m…
Probing the shape of the brown dwarf desert around main-sequence A-F-G-type stars using post-common-envelope WDBD binaries
Zhangliang Chen, Yizhi Chen, Chen Chen +2
Brown dwarfs (BDs) possessing masses within the range are rare around solar-type main-sequence (MS) stars, which gives rise to the brown dwarf desert (BDD). One…
