Galaxy populations in the Antlia cluster. II. Compact elliptical galaxy candidates
Analia V. Smith Castelli, Favio R. Faifer, Tom Richtler +1
We present a photometric analysis of four galaxies classified as compact elliptical (cE) galaxies in the FS90 Antlia Group catalogue. Only 6 members of this rare type of galaxies a…
Galaxy populations in the Antlia cluster. I. Photometric properties of early-type galaxies
A. V. Smith Castelli, L. P. Bassino, T. Richtler +3
We present the first colour-magnitude relation (CMR) of early-type galaxies in the central region of the Antlia cluster, obtained from CCD wide-field photometry in the Washington p…
Interactions, Mergers and the Fundamental Mass Relations of Galaxies
Patricia B. Tissera, Analia Smith Castelli, Cecilia Scannapieco
We present a study of the effects of mergers and interactions on the mass distribution of galactic systems in hierarchical clustering scenarios using the disc-bulge structural para…
Are violent events responsible of a Galaxy Morphological loop?
C. Scannapieco, A. V. Smith Castelli, P. B. Tissera
We use cosmological SPH simulations to investigate the effects of mergers and interactions on the formation of the bulge and disc components of galactic systems. We find that secul…
