Strategic Demand-Planning in Wireless Networks: Can Generative-AI Save Spectrum and Energy?
Berk Çiloğlu, Görkem Berkay Koç, Afsoon Alidadi Shamsabadi +2
Generative-AI (GenAI), a novel technology capable of producing various types of outputs, including text, images, and videos, offers significant potential for wireless communication…
Cell Switching in HAPS-Aided Networking: How the Obscurity of Traffic Loads Affects the Decision
Berk Çiloğlu, Görkem Berkay Koç, Metin Ozturk +1
This study aims to introduce the cell load estimation problem of cell switching approaches in cellular networks specially-presented in a high-altitude platform station (HAPS)-assis…
Multi-Tier Non-Terrestrial Networking for Disaster Communications: A Layered Clustering Approach
Metin Ozturk, Berk Çiloğlu, Görkem Berkay Koç +1
It is crucial to deploy temporary non-terrestrial networks (NTN) in disaster situations where terrestrial networks are no longer operable. Deploying uncrewed aerial vehicle base st…
A Lightweight Machine Learning Approach for Delay-Aware Cell-Switching in 6G HAPS Networks
Görkem Berkay Koç, Berk Çiloğlu, Metin Ozturk +1
This study investigates the integration of a high altitude platform station (HAPS), a non-terrestrial network (NTN) node, into the cell-switching paradigm for energy saving. By doi…
