Metaheuristic algorithms for the induced P-median problem with upgrades
Sergio Salazar, Abraham Duarte, Mauricio G. C. Resende +1
Facility location problems (FLPs) are a family of optimisation problems with significant social impact. This class of problems has been the subject of study since the 1960s, with c…
A random-key GRASP for combinatorial optimization
Antonio A. Chaves, Mauricio G. C. Resende, Ricardo M. A. Silva
This paper proposes a problem-independent GRASP metaheuristic using the random-key optimizer (RKO) paradigm. GRASP (greedy randomized adaptive search procedure) is a metaheuristic…
A biased random-key genetic algorithm with variable mutants to solve a vehicle routing problem
Paola Festa, Francesca Guerriero, Mauricio G. C. Resende +1
The paper explores the Biased Random-Key Genetic Algorithm (BRKGA) in the domain of logistics and vehicle routing. Specifically, the application of the algorithm is contextualized…
20 years of Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedures with Path Relinking
Manuel Laguna, Rafael Martí, Anna Martinez-Gavara +2
This is a comprehensive review of the Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP) metaheuristic and its hybridization with Path Relinking (PR) over the past two decades. GR…
