The ALMA Phasing System: A Beamforming Capability for Ultra-High-Resolution Science at (Sub)Millimeter Wavelengths
L. D. Matthews, G. B. Crew, S. S. Doeleman +38
The Atacama Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) Phasing Project (APP) has developed and deployed the hardware and software necessary to coherently sum the signals of individual A…
Dynamical Imaging with Interferometry
Michael D. Johnson, Katherine L. Bouman, Lindy Blackburn +7
By linking widely separated radio dishes, the technique of very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) can greatly enhance angular resolution in radio astronomy. However, at any given…
Super-resolution Full Polarimetric Imaging for Radio Interferometry with Sparse Modeling
Kazunori Akiyama, Shiro Ikeda, Mollie Pleau +9
We propose a new technique for radio interferometry to obtain super-resolution full polarization images in all four Stokes parameters using sparse modeling. The proposed technique…
Imaging the Schwarzschild-radius-scale Structure of M87 with the Event Horizon Telescope using Sparse Modeling
Kazunori Akiyama, Kazuki Kuramochi, Shiro Ikeda +10
We propose a new imaging technique for radio and optical/infrared interferometry. The proposed technique reconstructs the image from the visibility amplitude and closure phase, whi…
