Native-resolution retrievals of VHS 1256-1257 b spanning the JWST/NIRSpec wavelength range: Chemical composition of a partially cloudy atmosphere
S. de Regt, N. Whiteford, B. E. Miles +3
The wide wavelength coverage and sensitivity offered by JWST enable detailed analyses of extrasolar atmospheres. At its highest resolution (R~2700), NIRSpec measures the absorption…
The ESO SupJup Survey XI. Atmospheric properties of six isolated M- and L-type dwarfs with CRIRES+
C. R. Malcolm, N. Grasser, I. A. G. Snellen +9
The distinct formation pathways of brown dwarfs and giant exoplanets may be encoded in their atmospheric composition. We present atmospheric retrievals for six isolated brown dwarf…
Strong and variable stratospheric CO emission from lava-planet 55 Cnc e observed with NIRCam/JWST
Ignas Snellen, Yamila Miguel, Leoni Janssen +4
Some rocky planets orbit so close to their host stars that stellar heating melts their surfaces. They offer a rare glimpse of planets in a magma-ocean state, providing an observabl…
The ESO SupJup Survey. X. A carbon isotope contrast in the young ROXs 12 system
N. Grasser, I. A. G. Snellen, S. de Regt +7
Emerging research suggests that elemental and isotopic ratios of exoplanet and brown dwarf atmospheres may serve as potential tracers of their formation pathways. The ESO SupJup Su…
