Estimation of Missing Data Using Computational Intelligence and Decision Trees
George Ssali, Tshilidzi Marwala
This paper introduces a novel paradigm to impute missing data that combines a decision tree with an auto-associative neural network (AANN) based model and a principal component ana…
Finite Element Model Updating Using Bayesian Approach
Tshilidzi Marwala, Lungile Mdlazi, Sibusiso Sibisi
This paper compares the Maximum-likelihood method and Bayesian method for finite element model updating. The Maximum-likelihood method was implemented using genetic algorithm while…
An Integrated Human-Computer System for Controlling Interstate Disputes
Tshilidzi Marwala, Monica Lagazio, Thando Tettey
In this paper we develop a scientific approach to control inter-country conflict. This system makes use of a neural network and a feedback control approach. It was found that by co…
Missing Data: A Comparison of Neural Network and Expectation Maximisation Techniques
Fulufhelo V. Nelwamondo, Shakir Mohamed, Tshilidzi Marwala
The estimation of missing input vector elements in real time processing applications requires a system that possesses the knowledge of certain characteristics such as correlations…
