Warped G-throats in IIA and uplift dSillusions
Fotis Farakos, George Tringas, Thomas Van Riet
Flux compactifications of IIA supergravity on orientifolded G-manifolds have been argued to allow for classical Minkowski vacua with moduli and scale-separated AdS vacu…
Supergravity solutions for D-D bound states: from to
Sébastien Reymond, Mario Trigiante, Thomas Van Riet
Near horizon geometries of D-branes with are singular with a running dilaton. Bound states of D branes with their magnetic cousins, D branes, can stabilise t…
Classical de Sitter solutions in three dimensions without tachyons?
Fotis Farakos, George Tringas, Thomas Van Riet
We continue the study of compactifications of massive IIA supergravity on G2 orientifolds and demonstrate that breaking supersymmetry with anti-D2 and anti-D6 sources leads to 3d t…
Meta-stable non-extremal anti-branes
Jay Armas, Nam Nguyen, Vasilis Niarchos +2
We find new and compelling evidence for the meta-stability of SUSY-breaking states in holographic backgrounds whose consistency has been the source of ongoing disagreements in the…
What if string theory has no de Sitter vacua?
Ulf H. Danielsson, Thomas Van Riet
We present a brief overview of attempts to construct de Sitter vacua in string theory and explain how the results of this 20-year endeavor could point to the fact that string theor…
