Spatially variable crater morphology on the dwarf planet Haumea
George D McDonald, Lujendra Ojha
Haumea, thought to be the Kuiper Belt's 3rd most massive object, has a fast 3.92 hr rotational period, resulting in its shape as a triaxial ellipsoid. Here, we make the first detai…
Thermophysical assessment on the feasibility of basal melting in the south polar region of Mars
Lujendra Ojha, Jacob Buffo, Baptiste Journaux
Bright basal reflectors in radargram from the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding (MARSIS) of the Martian south polar layered deposits (SPLD) have been inter…
Liquid Water on Cold Exo-Earths via Basal Melting of Ice Sheets
Lujendra Ojha, Bryce Troncone, Jacob Buffo +2
Liquid water is a critical component of habitability. However, the production and stability of surficial liquid water can be challenging on planets outside the Habitable Zone and d…
Aeolian sediment transport on Io from lava-frost interactions
George D. McDonald, Joshua Méndez Harper, Lujendra Ojha +4
Surface modification on Jupiter's volcanically active moon, Io, has to date been attributed almost exclusively to lava emplacement and volcanic plume deposits. Here we demonstrate…
