Discovery of a low surface brightness galaxy in the Zone of Avoidance using VVVX Deepstack imaging
J. L. Nilo-Castellón, L. Baravalle, D. Minniti +12
We report the discovery of VVVX J080705.96-273823.6, the first low-surface-brightness galaxy candidate identified in the Zone of Avoidance by the VISTA Variables in the Via Lactea…
High energy gamma-ray sources in the VVV survey - III. Spectroscopic confirmation of an AGN at low Galactic latitudes
Eduardo O. Schmidt, Laura D. Baravalle, Ana Pichel +9
We aim to spectroscopically confirm the nature of VVV-J181258.71-314346.7, a candidate counterpart to the unassociated gamma-ray source 4FGLJ1812.8-3144. This object was selected b…
The VISTA Variables in the Vía Láctea eXtended (VVVX) ESO public survey: Completion of the observations and legacy
R. K. Saito, M. Hempel, J. Alonso-García +143
The ESO public survey VISTA Variables in the Vía Láctea (VVV) surveyed the inner Galactic bulge and the adjacent southern Galactic disk from . Upon its conclusion, the c…
An Infrared view of the obscured AGN environment in NGC 4945
Gaia Gaspar, Rubén J. Díaz, Damián Mast +4
NGC 4945 harbors one of the nearest active galactic nuclei (AGN), which allows reaching high spatial resolution with the current observational facilities. The Seyfert 2 nucleus is…
