XQR-30: Black Hole Masses and Accretion Rates of 42 z>6 Quasars
C. Mazzucchelli, M. Bischetti, V. D'Odorico +19
We present bolometric luminosities, black hole masses and Eddington ratios for 42 luminous quasars at z>6 using high signal-to-noise ratio VLT/X-Shooter spectra, acquired in the en…
XQR-30: the ultimate XSHOOTER quasar sample at the reionization epoch
Valentina D'Odorico, E. Banados, G. D. Becker +46
The final phase of the reionization process can be probed by rest-frame UV absorption spectra of quasars at z>6, shedding light on the properties of the diffuse intergalactic mediu…
Unveiling the warm dense ISM in quasar host galaxies via water vapor emission
A. Pensabene, P. van der Werf, R. Decarli +10
Water vapor (HO) is one of the brightest molecular emitters after carbon monoxide (CO) in galaxies with high infrared (IR) luminosity, and allows us to investigate the warm d…
Widespread, strong outflows in XQR-30 quasars at the Reionisation epoch
M. Bischetti, C. Feruglio, V. D'Odorico +23
Luminous quasars powered by accretion onto billion solar mass black holes already exist at the epoch of Reionisation, when the Universe was 0.5-1 Gyr old. These objects likely resi…
