Hybrid Active-Passive IRS Assisted Energy-Efficient Wireless Communication
Qiaoyan Peng, Qingqing Wu, Guangji Chen +3
Deploying active reflecting elements at the intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) increases signal amplification capability but incurs higher power consumption. Therefore, it remain…
Integrated Sensing and Communication based Outdoor Multi-Target Detection, Tracking and Localization in Practical 5G Networks
Ruiqi Liu, Mengnan Jian, Dawei Chen +4
The 6th generation (6G) wireless networks will likely to support a variety of capabilities beyond communication, such as sensing and localization, through the use of communication…
IRS Aided MEC Systems with Binary Offloading: A Unified Framework for Dynamic IRS Beamforming
Guangji Chen, Qingqing Wu
In this paper, we develop a unified dynamic intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) beamforming framework to boost the sum computation rate of an IRS-aided mobile edge computing (MEC)…
Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces for Wireless Communications: Overview of Hardware Designs, Channel Models, and Estimation Techniques
Mengnan Jian, George C. Alexandropoulos, Ertugrul Basar +4
The demanding objectives for the future sixth generation (6G) of wireless communication networks have spurred recent research efforts on novel materials and radio-frequency front-e…
