Single electron-spin-resonance detection by microwave photon counting
Zhiren Wang, Léo Balembois, Milos Rančić +10
Electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy is the method of choice for characterizing paramagnetic impurities, with applications ranging from chemistry to quantum computing, but it…
Microwave fluorescence detection of spin echoes
Eric Billaud, Leo Balembois, Marianne Le Dantec +9
Counting the microwave photons emitted by an ensemble of electron spins when they relax radiatively has recently been proposed as a sensitive method for electron paramagnetic reson…
Twenty-three millisecond electron spin coherence of erbium ions in a natural-abundance crystal
Marianne Le Dantec, Miloš Rančić, Sen Lin +12
Erbium ions doped into crystals have unique properties for quantum information processing, because of their optical transition at 1.5 m and of the large magnetic moment of their…
Coherence time of over a second in a telecom-compatible quantum memory storage material
Miloš Rančić, Morgan P. Hedges, Rose L. Ahlefeldt +1
Quantum memories for light will be essential elements in future long-range quantum communication networks. These memories operate by reversibly mapping the quantum state of light o…
