The Giant X-ray Flare of GRB 050502B: Evidence for Late-Time Internal Engine Activity
A. D. Falcone, D. N. Burrows, D. Lazzati +28
Until recently, X-ray flares during the afterglow of gamma ray bursts (GRBs) were a rarely detected phenomenon, thus their nature is unclear. During the afterglow of GRB 050502B, t…
Discovery of an Afterglow Extension of the Prompt Phase of Two Gamma Ray Bursts Observed by Swift
S. D. Barthelmy, J. K. Cannizzo, N. Gehrels +19
BAT and XRT observations of two recent well-covered GRBs observed by Swift, GRB 050315 and GRB 050319, show clearly a prompt component joining the onset of the afterglow emission.…
Swift panchromatic observations of the bright gamma-ray burst GRB050525a
A. J. Blustin, D. Band, S. Barthelmy +12
The bright gamma-ray burst GRB050525a has been detected with the Swift observatory, providing unique multiwavelength coverage from the very earliest phases of the burst. The X-ray…
Swift observations of GRB050128: the early X-ray afterglow
S. Campana, L. A. Antonelli, G. Chincarini +33
Swift discovered GRB050128 with the Burst Alert Telescope and promptly pointed its narrow field instruments to monitor the afterglow. X-ray observations started 108 s after the tri…
