Spherical Antenna Arrays for Future Communications: Principles, Applications, and Research Directions
Cunhua Pan, Xianzhe Chen, Hong Ren +1
With the development of 6G technologies, traditional uniform linear arrays (ULAs) and uniform planar arrays (UPAs) can hardly meet the demands of three-dimensional (3D) full-space…
Theoretical and Empirical Study of Spatial Power Focusing Effect for Sparse Arrays at Terahertz Band
Yongchao He, Taihao Zhang, Cunhua Pan +5
This work investigates the spatial power focusing effect for large-scale sparse arrays at terahertz (THz) band, combining theoretical analysis with experimental validation. Specifi…
Effective DoF-Oriented Optimal Antenna Spacing in Near-Field XL-MIMO Systems
Xianzhe Chen, Hong Ren, Cunhua Pan +2
This letter investigates the optimal antenna spacing for a near-field XL-MIMO communication system from the perspective of the array gain. Specifically, using the Green's function-…
Exploring the Advantages of Sparse Arrays in Near-Field XL-MIMO Systems: Beam Analysis and EDoF Function
Xianzhe Chen, Hong Ren, Cunhua Pan +2
This paper investigates near-field XL-MIMO systems with sparse uniform planar arrays (UPAs). Based on the Green's function-based channel model, the paper derives closed-form expres…
