The GAPS Programme at TNG LXVIII. Characterization of the outer substellar companion around HD 72659 with a multi-technique approach
A. Ruggieri, A. Sozzetti, S. Desidera +23
Before discovering the first exoplanets, the Radial Velocity (RV) method had been used for decades to discover binary stars. Despite significant advancements in this technique, it…
The HOSTS Survey: Suspected variable dust emission and constraints on companions around θ Boo
G. Garreau, D. Defrère, S. Ertel +23
During the HOSTS survey by the LBTI, an excess emission from the main sequence star θ Boo (F7V spectral type, 14.5pc distance) was observed. This excess indicates the presence of e…
Protoplanetary disk insights from the first ERIS/APP survey at 4 μm
F. Maio, V. Roccatagliata, D. Fedele +17
We present high-contrast imaging observations of seven protoplanetary disks at 4um using the ERIS on the VLT. This study focuses on detecting scattered light from micron-sized dust…
A study of the frequency and characteristics of stellar companions and Jupiter-like planets in nearby open clusters
R. Gratton, M. Bonavita, D. Mesa +9
Observations of companions of solar-type stars in nearby young moving groups (NYMGs) show that they split into two groups: stellar and brown dwarf companions (mass ratio )…
