The quantum determinant of the elliptic algebra ${\mathcal{A}}_{q,p}({\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_N)$

We introduce the quantum determinant for the elliptic quantum algebra ${\mathcal{A}}_{q,p}({\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_N)$ and prove that it generates the center of this algebra.
