Chasing Gamma-Ray Signals from Binary Neutron Star Coalescences with the Cherenkov Telescope Array: Prospects and Observing Strategies
S. Abe, J. Abhir, A. Abhishek +457
The detection of gravitational waves (GWs) from a binary neutron star (BNS) merger by Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo (GW170817), together with its electromagnetic counterpart, th…
Prospects for dark matter observations in dwarf spheroidal galaxies with the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory
K. Abe, S. Abe, J. Abhir +491
The dwarf spheroidal galaxies (dSphs) orbiting the Milky Way are widely regarded as systems supported by velocity dispersion against self-gravity, and as prime targets for the sear…
Prospects for a survey of the Galactic plane with the Cherenkov Telescope Array
CTA Consortium
Approximately one hundred sources of very-high-energy (VHE) gamma rays are known in the Milky Way. A survey of the entire Galactic Plane in the energy range from a few tens of GeV…
The Origins Space Telescope: Towards An Understanding of Temperate Planetary Atmospheres
Jonathan Fortney, Tiffany Kataria, Kevin Stevenson +46
The Origins Space Telescope (OST) is one of four mission concepts currently being studied by NASA in preparation for the Astrophysics 2020 Decadal Survey. With active cooling (~4 K…
