Femtosecond Optical Two-Way Time-Frequency Transfer in the Presence of Motion
Laura C. Sinclair, Hugo Bergeron, William C. Swann +5
Platform motion poses significant challenges to high-precision optical time and frequency transfer. We give a detailed description of these challenges and their solutions in comb-b…
Time Synchronization over a Free-Space Optical Communication Channel
Isaac Khader, Hugo Bergeron, Laura C. Sinclair +3
Free space optical (FSO) communication channels are typically used to transmit high-speed data between sites over the air. Here we repurpose an FSO digital communication system and…
The evolution of the UV-to-mm extragalactic background light: evidence for a top-heavy initial mass function?
William. I. Cowley, Cedric G. Lacey, Carlton M. Baugh +3
We present predictions for the UV-to-mm extragalactic background light (EBL) from a recent version of the GALFORM semi-analytical model of galaxy formation which invokes a top-heav…
An open and flexible digital phase-locked loop for optical metrology
Alex Tourigny-Plante, Vincent Michaud-Belleau, Nicolas Bourbeau-Hébert +3
This paper presents an open and flexible digital phase lock loop optimized for laser stabilization systems. It is implemented on a cheap and easily accessible FPGA-based digital el…
