The role of interaction in matter wave optics with motional states
RuGway Wu, Maximilian Prüfer, Jörg Schmiedmayer
Matter-wave optics is often viewed as a linear analogue of photonics, where noninteracting particles are coherently split, diffracted, and recombined, and interference arises from…
Collisions of three-component vector solitons in Bose-Einstein condensates
Stefan Lannig, Christian-Marcel Schmied, Maximilian Prüfer +6
Ultracold gases provide an unprecedented level of control for the investigation of soliton dynamics and collisions. We present a scheme for deterministically preparing pairs of thr…
Experimental extraction of the quantum effective action for a non-equilibrium many-body system
Maximilian Prüfer, Torsten V. Zache, Philipp Kunkel +5
Far-from-equilibrium situations are ubiquitous in nature. They are responsible for a wealth of phenomena, which are not simple extensions of near-equilibrium properties, ranging fr…
Observation of universal dynamics in a spinor Bose gas far from equilibrium
Maximilian Prüfer, Philipp Kunkel, Helmut Strobel +6
The dynamics of quantum systems far from equilibrium represents one of the most challenging problems in theoretical many-body physics. While the evolution is in general intractable…
