Studies on tetrafluoropropene-CO2 based gas mixtures for the Resistive Plate Chambers of the ALICE Muon IDentifier
Alessandro Ferretti
Due to their simplicity and comparatively low cost Resistive Plate Chambers are gaseous detectors widely used in high-energy and cosmic rays physics when large detection areas are…
Upgrade of the CMS Resistive Plate Chambers for the High Luminosity LHC
A. Samalan, M. Tytgat, G. A. Alves +108
During the upcoming High Luminosity phase of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), the integrated luminosity of the accelerator will increase to 3000 fb. The expected experime…
Modeling the triple-GEM detector response to background particles for the CMS Experiment
M. Abbas, M. Abbrescia, H. Abdalla +186
An estimate of environmental background hit rate on triple-GEM chambers is performed using Monte Carlo (MC) simulation and compared to data taken by test chambers installed in the…
Performance of a Triple-GEM Demonstrator in Collisions at the CMS Detector
M. Abbas, M. Abbrescia, H. Abdalla +178
After the Phase-2 high-luminosity upgrade to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the collision rate and therefore the background rate will significantly increase, particularly in the…
