Evidence for Azimuthally Anisotropic MgII Absorption around DESI Luminous Red Galaxies
Xuanyi Wu, Cheng Li
We use luminous red galaxies (LRGs) and background quasar spectra from DESI DR1 to measure the mean MgII equivalent width around massive quiescent galaxies as a function of project…
Tracing the evolution of the cool gas in CGM and IGM environments through Mg II absorption from redshift z=0.75 to z=1.65 using DESI-Y1 data
X. Wu, Z. Cai, T. -W. Lan +35
We present a measurement of the mean absorption of cool gas traced by Mg II () around emission line galaxies (ELGs), spanning spatial scales from 20 kpc to 10 Mpc.…
Signatures of inflowing gas in red geyser galaxies hosting radio-AGN
Namrata Roy, Kevin Bundy, Kate H. R. Rubin +10
We study cool neutral gas traced by NaD absorption in 140 local ( early-type ``red geyser'' galaxies. These galaxies show unique signatures in spatially-resolved strong…
Constraints on circum-galactic media from Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effects and X-ray data
Xuanyi Wu, Houjun Mo, Cheng Li +1
We use observational measurements of thermal and kinetic Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effects, as well as soft X-ray emission associated with galaxy groups to constrain the gas density and t…
