Non-Inductive Current Start-Up Using Multi-Harmonic Electron Cyclotron Wave and Current Ramp-Up Through Combined Electron Cyclotron Wave and Ohmic Heating in EXL-50U Spherical Torus
Xinchen Jiang, Yuejiang Shi, Yueng-Kay Martin Peng +21
The non-inductive current start-up by multi-harmonic electron cyclotron wave has been systematically investigated in the EXL-50U spherical torus. Significant enhancements of the dr…
A robust method for calculating plasma waves absorption in magnetized plasmas and its implementation in the BORAY ray-tracing code
Wanying Yu, Huasheng Xie, Aohua Mao +2
This paper presents a robust numerical method for calculating the total absorption rate of electromagnetic waves in magnetized plasmas, capable of determining the absorption ratio…
Plasma Waves Accessibility Diagrams: A Tutorial to Include the Fluid and Kinetic Thermal Effects
Huasheng Xie, Haojie Ma, Yukun Bai
Although the accurate description of the wave propagation and absorption in plasmas requires complicated full wave solutions or kinetic simulations, the local dispersion analysis c…
Two-parameter Radial Equilibrium Models for Field-Reversed Configurations
Haojie Ma, Huasheng Xie, Yukun Bai +7
A new equilibrium pressure profile extending the Rigid-Rotor (RR) model with a simple unified expression for both inside and outside the separatrix is proposed,…
