CHIME/FRB Discovery of an Unusual Circularly Polarized Long-Period Radio Transient with an Accelerating Spin Period
Fengqiu Adam Dong, Kaitlyn Shin, Casey Law +20
We report the discovery of CHIME J1634+44, a Long Period Radio Transient (LPT) unique for two aspects: it is the first known LPT to emit fully circularly polarized radio bursts, an…
The Host Galaxy of FRB 20190520B and Its Unique Ionized Gas Distribution
Xiang-Lei Chen, Chao-Wei Tsai, Daniel Stern +13
The properties of host galaxies associated with Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) provide critical information for inferring the progenitors and radiation mechanisms of these bursts. We rep…
Evidence for a hot galactic halo around the Andromeda Galaxy using fast radio bursts along two sightlines
Reshma Anna-Thomas, Casey J. Law, Eric W. Koch +17
Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are millisecond-duration radio transients that serve as unique probes of ionized extragalactic matter. We report the discovery and localization of two FRBs…
Improved constraints on the Faraday rotation towards eight fast radio bursts using dense grids of polarized radio galaxies
Ayush Pandhi, Bryan M. Gaensler, Ziggy Pleunis +6
We present 2-4 GHz observations of polarized radio galaxies towards eight fast radio bursts (FRBs), producing grids of Faraday rotation measure (RM) sources with sky densities of 9…
