Turbulent gas-rich discs at high redshift: the origin of early massive stellar bars
Joss Bland-Hawthorn, Thor Tepper-Garcia, Chris Hamilton +4
Recent observations combining the power of ALMA and JWST have revealed large ( kpc), massive () stellar bars at when the Universe…
A stellar bar hidden in an extreme gas-rich disk galaxy at z=4.055
Leindert A. Boogaard, Luca Costantin, Thor Tepper-García +14
The classical picture for the formation of stellar bars -- key dynamical drivers of the evolution of galaxies -- is through secular evolution of instability in gas poor, stellar-do…
Enhanced rates of stellar radial migration in gas-rich discs at high redshift
HanYuan Zhang, Thor Tepper-García, Vasily Belokurov +6
Radial migration and dynamical heating redistribute stars within galactic discs and thereby modify the chemo-kinematic structure of their host galaxies. Usually, these secular proc…
The GALAH survey: tracing the Galactic disk with Open Clusters
Lorenzo Spina, Yuan-Sen Ting, Gayandhi M. De Silva +28
Open clusters are unique tracers of the history of our own Galaxy's disk. According to our membership analysis based on \textit{Gaia} astrometry, out of the 226 potential clusters…
