Secure Wi-Fi Ranging Today: Security and Adoption of IEEE 802.11az/bk
Nikola Antonijević, Bernhard Etzlinger, Dave Singelée +1
Ranging and localisation have become critical for many applications and services. The Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) standard is a natural candidate for providing these functions across diver…
Trustworthiness for an Ultra-Wideband Localization Service
Philipp Peterseil, Bernhard Etzlinger, Jan Horáček +2
Trustworthiness assessment is an essential step to assure that interdependent systems perform critical functions as anticipated, even under adverse conditions. In this paper, a hol…
Distance Estimation for BLE-based Contact Tracing -- A Measurement Study
Bernhard Etzlinger, Barbara Nußbaummüller, Philipp Peterseil +1
Mobile contact tracing apps are -- in principle -- a perfect aid to condemn the human-to-human spread of an infectious disease such as COVID-19 due to the wide use of smartphones w…
Using Channel State Information for Physical Tamper Attack Detection in OFDM Systems: A Deep Learning Approach
Eshagh Dehmollaian, Bernhard Etzlinger, Núria Ballber Torres +1
This letter proposes a deep learning approach to detect a change in the antenna orientation of transmitter or receiver as a physical tamper attack in OFDM systems using channel sta…
SecSens: Secure State Estimation with Application to Localization and Time Synchronization
Amr Alanwar, Bernhard Etzlinger, Henrique Ferraz +2
Research evidence in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) shows that the introduced tight coupling of information technology with physical sensing and actuation leads to more vulnerability…
Cooperative Simultaneous Localization and Synchronization in Mobile Agent Networks
Bernhard Etzlinger, Florian Meyer, Franz Hlawatsch +2
Cooperative localization in agent networks based on interagent time-of-flight measurements is closely related to synchronization. To leverage this relation, we propose a Bayesian f…
Cooperative Joint Localization and Clock Synchronization Based on Gaussian Message Passing in Asynchronous Wireless Networks
Weijie Yuan, Nan Wu, Bernhard Etzlinger +2
Localization and synchronization are very important in many wireless applications such as monitoring and vehicle tracking. Utilizing the same time of arrival (TOA) measurements for…
Cooperative Synchronization in Wireless Networks
Bernhard Etzlinger, Henk Wymeersch, Andreas Springer
Synchronization is a key functionality in wireless network, enabling a wide variety of services. We consider a Bayesian inference framework whereby network nodes can achieve phase…
