Teaching a Minimalist Machine to Discover Recursive Programs for Arithmetic
Dominik Magiera, Christiane Wiebel-Herboth, Frank Jäkel
Humans can often acquire and synthesize complex, recursive concepts from minimal experience. Leveraging cognitive insights, we propose the Minimalist Machine, a framework for induc…
Measuring Successful Cooperation in Human-AI Teamwork: Development and Validation of the Perceived Cooperativity and Teaming Perception Scales
Christiane Attig, Christiane Wiebel-Herboth, Patricia Wollstadt +3
As human-AI cooperation becomes increasingly prevalent, reliable instruments for assessing the subjective quality of cooperative human-AI interaction are needed. We introduce two t…
Improving HRI through robot architecture transparency
Lukas Hindemith, Anna-Lisa Vollmer, Christiane B. Wiebel-Herboth +1
In recent years, an increased effort has been invested to improve the capabilities of robots. Nevertheless, human-robot interaction remains a complex field of application where err…
Why robots should be technical: Correcting mental models through technical architecture concepts
Lukas Hindemith, Anna-Lisa Vollmer, Jan Phillip Göpfert +2
Research in social robotics is commonly focused on designing robots that imitate human behavior. While this might increase a user's satisfaction and acceptance of robots at first g…
