Project Hephaistos -- III. Characterizing anomalous infrared sources identified as Dyson-sphere candidates
Andreas J. Korn, Matías Suazo, Erik Zackrisson +3
The infrared-flux excess of stars harbouring Dyson spheres represent one potential technosignature of extraterrestrial intelligence. In a previous Project Hephaistos paper, we high…
Archival Diagnostics for Potential Background Contaminantsof Project Hephaistos Dyson Sphere Candidates
Tongtian Ren, Michael A. Garrett, Erik Zackrisson +4
We report on the diagnostic investigation of nine Project Hephaistos Dyson Sphere candidate M-dwarfs based on archival data. By comparing the Gaia DR3 positions with epoch 2016.0,…
Pushing the boundaries of asteroseismic individual frequency modelling: unveiling two evolved very-low metallicity red giants
Jens R. Larsen, Jakob L. Rørsted, Victor Aguirre Børsen-Koch +21
Metal-poor stars are key to understanding the first stellar generation in the Galaxy. Asteroseismic characterisation of red giants has traditionally relied on global seismic parame…
Project Hephaistos - II. Dyson sphere candidates from Gaia DR3, 2MASS, and WISE
Matías Suazo, Erik Zackrisson, Priyatam K. Mahto +5
The search for extraterrestrial intelligence is currently being pursued using multiple techniques and in different wavelength bands. Dyson spheres, megastructures that could be con…
