Simple parameter estimation using observable features of gravitational-wave signals
Stephen Fairhurst, Charlie Hoy, Rhys Green +2
Using simple, intuitive arguments, we discuss the expected accuracy with which astrophysical parameters can be extracted from an observed gravitational wave signal. The observation…
All-sky search in early O3 LIGO data for continuous gravitational-wave signals from unknown neutron stars in binary systems
The LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the Virgo Collaboration, R. Abbott +1369
Rapidly spinning neutron stars are promising sources of persistent, continuous gravitational waves. Detecting such a signal would allow probing of the physical properties of matter…
Constraining the Inclination of Binary Mergers from Gravitational-wave Observations
Samantha A. Usman, Joseph C. Mills, Stephen Fairhurst
Much of the information we hope to extract from the gravitational-waves signatures of compact binaries is only obtainable when we can accurately constrain the inclination of the so…
The PyCBC search for gravitational waves from compact binary coalescence
Samantha A. Usman, Alexander H. Nitz, Ian W. Harry +18
We describe the PyCBC search for gravitational waves from compact-object binary coalescences in advanced gravitational-wave detector data. The search was used in the first Advanced…
