Learning the Gap in the Day-Ahead and Real-Time Locational Marginal Prices in the Electricity Market
Nika Nizharadze, Arash Farokhi Soofi, Saeed D. Manshadi
In this paper, statistical machine learning algorithms, as well as deep neural networks, are used to predict the values of the price gap between day-ahead and real-time electricity…
Demand Variation Impact on Tightness of Convex Relaxation Approaches for the ACOPF Problem
Arash Farokhi Soofi, Saeed D. Manshadi
This paper investigates the impact of the changes in the demand of power systems on the quality of the solution procured by the convex relaxation methods for the AC optimal power f…
Investigating the Impact of Electric Vehicles on the Voltage Profile of Distribution Networks
Arash Farokhi Soofi, Reza Bayani, Saeed D. Manshadi
This paper investigates the impact of high penetration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) on the distribution network in the presence of photovoltaic (PV) systems. Two models for EVs are p…
Strategic Bidding in Electricity Markets with Convexified AC Market-Clearing Process
Arash Farokhi Soofi, Saeed D. Manshadi
This paper presents a framework to solve the strategic bidding problem of participants in an electricity market cleared by employing the full AC Optimal Power Flow (ACOPF) problem…
