Recovering the effective impact parameters in integral-field absorption-line tomography
J. A. Hernández-Guajardo, L. F. Barrientos, C. Ledoux +3
Integral-field-unit (IFU) spectroscopy of extended background sources, such as gravitational arcs, delivers many closely spaced absorption sightlines through the circumgalactic med…
The multiple coherence scales of C IV at cosmic noon
H. Cortés-Muñoz, S. Lopez, N. Tejos +6
The spatial and kinematic structure of the circumgalactic medium (CGM) remains poorly constrained observationally. In this article we compute the clustering of CIV absorption syste…
Directly constraining the spatial coherence of the circumgalactic medium
A. Afruni, S. Lopez, P. Anshul +9
One of the biggest puzzles regarding the circumgalactic medium (CGM) is the structure of its cool ( K) gas phase. While the kinematics of quasar absorption systems sugge…
Pair Lines of Sight Observations of Multiphase Gas Bearing O VI in a Galaxy Environment
Pratyush Anshul, Anand Narayanan, Sowgat Muzahid +2
Using /COS observations of the twin quasar lines of sight QA QB, we report on the physical properties, chemical abundances and transverse sizes of gas…
