The Thousand-Pulsar-Array programme on MeerKAT -- V. Scattering analysis of single-component pulsars
L. S. Oswald, A. Karastergiou, B. Posselt +13
We have measured the scattering timescale, , and the scattering spectral index, , for 84 single-component pulsars. Observations were carried out with the MeerKAT telescope as…
Multi-frequency observations of SGR J1935+2154
M. Bailes, C. G. Bassa, G. Bernardi +54
Magnetars are a promising candidate for the origin of Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs). The detection of an extremely luminous radio burst from the Galactic magnetar SGR J1935+2154 on 2020…
Eight new millisecond pulsars from the first MeerKAT globular cluster census
A. Ridolfi, T. Gautam, P. C. C. Freire +24
We have used the central 44 antennas of the new 64-dish MeerKAT radio telescope array to conduct a deep search for new pulsars in the core of nine globular clusters. This has led t…
Measurements of pulse jitter and single-pulse variability in millisecond pulsars using MeerKAT
A. Parthasarathy, M. Bailes, R. M. Shannon +18
Using the state-of-the-art SKA precursor, the MeerKAT radio telescope, we explore the limits to precision pulsar timing of millisecond pulsars achievable due to pulse stochasticity…
