Generic stability, randomizations, and NIP formulas
Gabriel Conant, Kyle Gannon, James E. Hanson
We prove a number of results relating the concepts of Keisler measures, generic stability, randomizations, and NIP formulas. Among other things, we do the following: (1) We introdu…
A simple continuous theory
James Hanson
In the context of continuous first-order logic, special attention is often given to theories that are somehow continuous in an 'essential' way. A common feature of such theories is…
Bi-invariant types, reliably invariant types, and the comb tree property
James E. Hanson
We introduce and examine some special classes of invariant types$\unicode{x2014}$bi-invariant, strongly bi-invariant, extendibly invariant, and reliably invariant types$\unicode{x2…
Some semilattices of definable sets in continuous logic
James Hanson
In continuous first-order logic, the union of definable sets is definable but generally the intersection is not. This means that in any continuous theory, the collection of $\varno…
A metric set theory with a universal set
James Hanson
Motivated by ideas from the model theory of metric structures, we introduce a metric set theory, , which takes bounded quantification as primitive and consists of a n…
