Duality as a Gauge Symmetry and Topology Change
Amit Giveon
Duality groups as (spontaneously broken) gauge symmetries for toroidal backgrounds, and their role in (-dimensional) underlying string gauge algebras are reviewed. For curv…
On Nonabelian Duality
Amit Giveon, Martin Rocek
We show that nonabelian duality is not a symmetry of a conformal field theory, but rather a symmetry between different theories. We expose a nonlocal symmetry of nonabelian dual th…
Heterotic string solutions and coset conformal field theories
A. Giveon, E. Rabinovici, A. A. Tseytlin
We discuss solutions of the heterotic string theory which are analogous to bosonic and superstring backgrounds related to coset conformal field theories. A class of exact `left-rig…
Axial Vector Duality as a Gauge Symmetry and Topology Change in String Theory
A. Giveon, E. Kiritsis
Lines generated by marginal deformations of WZW models are considered. The Weyl symmetry at the WZW point implies the existence of a duality symmetry on such lines. The duality is…
On the BRST Operator Structure of the N=2 String
Amit Giveon, Martin Rocek
The BRST operator cohomology of supergravity coupled to matter is presented. Descent equations for primary superfields of the matter sector are derived. We find one copy…
