Proper Motions of the LMC and SMC: Reanalysis of Hubble Space Telescope Data
S. Piatek, C. Pryor, E. W. Olszewski
Kallivayalil et al. have used the \textit{Hubble Space Telescope} to measure proper motions of the LMC and SMC using images in 21 and five fields, respectively, all centered on kno…
The Velocity Dispersion Profile of the Remote Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy Leo I: A Tidal Hit and Run?
Mario Mateo, Edward W. Olszewski, Matthew G. Walker
(abridged) We present kinematic results for a sample of 387 stars located near Leo I based on spectra obtained with the MMT's Hectochelle spectrograph near the MgI/Mgb lines. We es…
Velocity Dispersion Profiles of Seven Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies
Matthew G. Walker, Mario Mateo, Edward W. Olszewski +4
We present stellar velocity dispersion profiles for seven Milky Way dwarf spheroidal (dSph) satellite galaxies. We have measured 8394 line-of-sight velocities (+/- 2.5 km/s) for 68…
The Michigan/MIKE Fiber System Survey of Stellar Radial Velocities in Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies: Acquisition and Reduction of Data
Matthew G. Walker, Mario Mateo, Edward W. Olszewski +3
We introduce a stellar velocity survey of dwarf spheroidal galaxies, undertaken using the Michigan/MIKE Fiber System (MMFS) at the Magellan/Clay 6.5 m telescope at Las Campanas Obs…
