GH FaS : Galaxy H-alpha Fabry-Perot System for the WHT
O. Hernandez, K. Fathi, C. Carignan +11
GHFaS a new Fabry-Perot system, is now available at the William Herschel Telescope. It was mounted, for the first time, at the Nasmyth focus of the 4.2 meter WHT on La Palma in…
Dynamics of blue compact galaxies, as revealed by their H velocity fields II. Mass models and the starburst triggering mechanism
G. Ostlin, P. Amram, N. Bergvall +3
The H velocity fields of a sample of six luminous blue compact galaxies (BCGs) and two companions have been obtained by observations with a scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer.…
Detection of candidate primordial galaxies at z>4
V. Le Brun, J. Boulesteix, A. Mazure +2
We report on the detection of four primordial galaxies candidates in the redshift range 4.55 < z < 4.76, as well as 4 other candidates in the range 4.12 < z < 4.32. These galaxies…
An Interferometric Study of the Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxy IZW18
A. R. Petrosian, J. Boulesteix, G. Comte +2
We present high spatial resolution observations of the blue compact dwarf galaxy IZW18 performed in the Halpha line with a scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer at the CFH telescope.…
