The Swift Bulge Survey: Motivation, Strategy, and First X-ray Results
A. Bahramian, C. O. Heinke, J. A. Kennea +12
Very faint X-ray transients (VFXTs) are X-ray transients with peak X-ray luminosities () of erg/s, which are not well-understood. We carried out a survey…
MOCCA-SURVEY database I. Accreting white dwarf binary systems in globular clusters -- IV. cataclysmic variables -- properties of bright and faint populations
Diogo Belloni, Mirek Giersz, Liliana E. Rivera Sandoval +2
We investigate here populations of cataclysmic variables (CVs) in a set of 288 globular cluster (GC) models evolved with the MOCCA code. This is by far the largest sample of GC mod…
Swift X-ray and UV Observations of SDSS J141118.31+481257.6 During its First Ever Recorded Superoutburst
L. E. Rivera Sandoval, T. J. Maccarone
SDSS J141118.31+481257.6 is an ultracompact white dwarf binary (or AM CVn system) with an orbital period of 46 min. We analyze ~23 ks of X-ray and UV data taken with the Neil Gehre…
X-ray Swift observations of SN 2018cow
L. E. Rivera Sandoval, T. J. Maccarone, A. Corsi +3
Supernova (SN) 2018cow (or AT2018cow) is an optical transient detected in the galaxy CGCG 137-068. It has been classified as a SN due to various characteristics in its optical spec…
