A fast powerful X-ray transient from possible tidal disruption of a white dwarf
Dongyue Li, Wenda Zhang, Jun Yang +97
Stars captured by black holes (BHs) can be torn apart by strong tidal forces, producing electromagnetic flares. To date, more than 100 tidal disruption events (TDEs) have been obse…
The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission -- eXTP for launch in 2030
Shuang-Nan Zhang, Andrea Santangelo, Yupeng Xu +155
In this paper we present the current status of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission, which has been fully approved for launch in 2030. eXTP is a space science mission…
EP241021a: a months-duration X-ray transient with luminous optical and radio emission
Shu Xinwen, Yang Lei, Yang Haonan +82
We present the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient, EP241021a, by the Einstein Probe (EP) mission, and the results from multiwavelength follow-up observations. The transient wa…
Einstein Probe discovery of EP240408a: a peculiar X-ray transient with an intermediate timescale
Wenda Zhang, Weimin Yuan, Zhixing Ling +136
We report the discovery of a peculiar X-ray transient, EP240408a, by Einstein Probe (EP) and follow-up studies made with EP, Swift, NICER, GROND, ATCA and other ground-based multi-…
