Random Vibration Testing of Microelectromechanical Deformable Mirrors for Space-based High-Contrast Imaging
Axel Potier, Camilo Mejia Prada, Garreth Ruane +11
Space-based stellar coronagraph instruments aim to directly image exoplanets that are a fraction of an arcsecond separation and ten billion times fainter than their host star. To a…
The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope Coronagraph Instrument (CGI) Technology Demonstration
N. Jeremy Kasdin, Vanessa P. Bailey, Bertrand Mennesson +18
The Coronagraph Instrument (CGI) on the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope will demonstrate the high-contrast technology necessary for visible-light exoplanet imaging and spectrosco…
Key Technologies for the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope Coronagraph Instrument
Vanessa P. Bailey, Lee Armus, Bala Balasubramanian +84
The Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST) Coronagraph Instrument (CGI) is a high-contrast imager and integral field spectrograph that will enable the study of exoplanets an…
Electric Field Conjugation with the Project 1640 coronagraph
Eric Cady, Christoph Baranec, Charles Beichman +25
The Project 1640 instrument on the 200-inch Hale telescope at Palomar Observatory is a coronagraphic instrument with an integral field spectrograph at the back end, designed to fin…
