Vortex Waves and Channel Capacity: Hopes and Reality
Rossella Gaffoglio, Andrea Cagliero, Giuseppe Vecchi +1
Several recent contributions have envisioned the possibility of increasing currently exploitable maximum channel capacity of a free space link, both at optical and radio frequencie…
On the Spectral Efficiency Limits of an OAM-based Multiplexing Scheme
Andrea Cagliero, Rossella Gaffoglio
As reported in several recent publications, a spatial multiplexing involving the transmission of orthogonal waves carrying Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) is unable to provide spect…
OAM multiple transmission using uniform circular arrays: numerical modeling and experimental verification with two digital television signals
Rossella Gaffoglio, Andrea Cagliero, Assunta De Vita +1
In this work we present the outcomes of a radio-frequency OAM transmission between two antenna arrays performed in a real-world context. The analysis is supplemented by deep simula…
A New Approach to the Link Budget Concept for an OAM Communication Link
Andrea Cagliero, Assunta De Vita, Rossella Gaffoglio +1
Following on from the increasing interest for electromagnetic waves carrying Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM), different configurations of antenna systems able to generate such beams…
